As the fast development of China’s machinery industry, the machining accuracy requirements are getting more rigid. The machining accuracy of the machine tool also becomes more rigid. As an indispensible part of a machine tool, the research on the accuracy retentivity of the guide rail becomes increasingly urgent. The research on the accuracy of abrasion in the sliding guide rail has a significant meaning. Therefore,this work did a detailed study in the sliding guide rail of the machine tool.At first, we do a deep research on the classical Archard friction model, we use the MMW-1 vertical universal friction and wear tester — made by Jinan Shijin company. We design a Two Factors and Four Levels Orthogonal Test and Experiments in Part of the Boundary Lubrication, and we use the software of MATLAB to do the simulation and correction work, finally we got the coefficients of the wear rate prediction equation.Secondly, we introduce the concept of guide rail wearing region, abrasion depth,and we take in the prediction formula of wear rate, at last we got the accuracy retentivity theoretical formula of the guide rail. Using the self-made guide rail gantry experimental machine–under the real motion condition, by adjusting the speed and stroke, and measuring the variation of the straightness of the guide rail, to verify the theoretical formula.Finally, based on VB and using the object-oriented approach, we design a system for the guide rail accuracy predicting. It contains a material base, a surface morphology database of the guide rail, and has the functions of experimental database storage, query and management. Through secondary development to realize the effective combination of sliding guide rail accuracy retentivity predicting system and ABAQUS finite element analysis software. By developing the guide accuracy retentivity theoretical analysis module, to realize the straightness analysis and draw an attenuation graph of the guide rail straightness. Finally, we developed a guide accuracy retentivity analysis model, under the real working condition experiment,after analyzing the experimental data, we got the keeping time of guide rail accuracy,draw an attenuation graph and the txt-form effect file.
