The Development And Innovative Of Traditional Crochet Application Research

Since the industrial age entered into the information age, the traditional hand crochet faces a recession because digital products are filled with all aspects of people’s lives. Fortunately, people’s life concept begin to change after tense and busy life, so they pay more and more attention are to the quality and the details of life which advocate a slow of life, having a desire to seek the truth and return to nature. Meanwhile,the government takes many treasures to protect traditional handicraft and encourage people to pay more attention to the tradition which provides an opportunity to the development of hand crochet. However, most of the traditional hand crochet articles still exist a lot of problems, for example, time-consuming, simplicity, high price and lack of innovation. Therefore, the designer have to be innovative to meet the need of modern life.From the origin of traditional hand crochet, this thesis aims to have a good understanding of the cultural connotation of traditional handcraft and to witnesses the change and the development of handcraft. Comparing the cultures, techniques and models in various periods of crochet, it is concluded that the trend of the crochet to gain the innovative way of decoration and application.The cultural value, the artistic charm and the containing emotion of hand crochet can not be replaced by industrial products, which is its worth. Based on the traditional crochet techniques, the author makes an attempt to innovation on the aspects of change of woven material, color matching and structure to arouse the attention to the traditional handcraft, combining the elements of tradition and fashion, immerging the traditional handcrafts into modern industry.
