With the continuous increasement of scallop farming area and yield, the demand of the scallop processing enterprises for mechanized processing equipment continuously increases. Aiming at the problems that the present scallop processing equipment is not applicable for larger scope and expensive,the mantle and viscera stripping technology for bay scallop is studied in this paper and the primary stripping processing prototype is designed.The mantle and viscera stripping mechanism is studied in this paper.And the analysis result of the biological characteristic of mantle and viscera reveals that there is a difference in the viscoelastic behavior of the adductor muscle and the mantle tissue.The difference is the very biological characteristic foundation of the mantle and viscera stripping.A few parts of the mantle connected with the shell only, the biological binding force between the adductor muscle and the mantle is the main stripping processing resistance.The shell length is an important parameter that has an significant effect on the biological binding force. According to the data of the uniaxial tensile test,the mathematical model of binding force that takes shell length as the independent variable is established.Comparing the advantages and weaknesses of kinds of stripping processing technology in mechanized stripping processing for bay scallop,this paper obtains the optimal method of stripping processing —— negative pressure suction.Suction opening is the key to the negative pressure suction technology and the flow rate and the vacuum are the most inportant parameters that have an impact on the stripping performance of the suction opening.Respectively the flow rate and the vacuum are ralated to the drag force and the pressure gradient force which have an stripping effect on the mantle and viscera.The parameter —— stripping power which measures the stripping performance is introduced in order to comprehensively consider the influence of the flow rate and the vacuum.The reasonable values of relevant parameters of the suction opening are finally determined through the test.The computer simulation analysis of the flow field of suctiong opening is made and the results reveals that the gas flow of suction opening is disordered and the pressure loss which is genarated by the flow resistance of the gas is high.Moreover the high speed airflow can not move along the surface of the mantle and viscera so as to lead to the bad stripping effect. In view of the lack of the suction opening structure,this paper gives an improvement scheme that a guided flow dome is installed in the suction opening.Through simulation analysis and experimental examination,there is obvious improvement in the flow field of suction opening and there is significant improvement in the stripping performance.Based on the mantle and viscera stripping mechanism and the research on the negative pressure suction technology,a primary stripping processing prototype for bay scallop is designed and manufactured.The prototype processing experiment is curried out and the result reveals that the removing rate of the mantle and viscera is high with the adductor muscle of high quality. The prototype has high processing efficiency,which can satisfy the demand of the practical use.As well as the prototype can offer the practice guidance for scallop stripping processing equipment in future.
