Aluminum alloy 6061-T6 as a kind of high strength alloy, not only has a very wide range of applications in the aerospace, bio engineering, mechanical, and also has a very good application prospect in micro mold manufacturing. With the development of technology and the machining requirements, most of the scholars is more and more the attention of micro cutting technology. The purpose of this study is to improve the quality of the micro machining surface, and focuses on the exploration of the relationship between cutting factors. Besides, in order to improve the production surface quality, this article was established a surface roughness prediction model to predict model roughness.At first, this paper analyzes the status of the metal cutting theory and single point diamond turning. In order to make a thorough study on the turning process, this article using general finite element software ABAQUS to establish the cutting model, which is easy to get the difficulty data. The paper was simulated the effect of single factor on the cutting process. In addition, it is predicting the physical characteristics of the different cutting depth cutting. Using the SEM scanning electron microscope to get the chip appearance, and explore the forming mechanism of chip.Secondly, by using the NANOTECH 350FG Moore machine, build the right turning experiment platform, design the orthogonal cutting experiment of single factor and orthogonal experiment. The optimal combination of cutting parameters is spindle speed: m3000rpm, feed rate:5mm/min, cutting depth of 5 mm. Analysis the differences influence of the spindle speed, feed rate and cutting depth. Experiments show that:the feed effect on the surface quality was most obviously. However, the cutting depth has little effect on the surface quality.In this paper, predicting the roughness model of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy by using MATLAB curve fitting based on 16 groups of orthogonal experiments data. In addition, the paper analyzes the problem appearing in the parameter significance testing.Finally, select the machining parameters randomly, using laser detection to get the surface roughness of the workpiece. The results show:the prediction model compared withthe measured value, the deviation is within 5nm.Mechanical, material and numerical analysis etc disciplines were combined to complete on this piper. There is provides theoretical support for the 6061-T6 research. Establish surface roughness prediction model. In addition, the design and research methods of this paper have certain reference significance for the similar design.
