As plane milling has the characteristic of more cutter and large diameter,and own the advantage of high crude machining efficiency and good finishing quality. So it is widely used in manufacture of automobiles、aerospace and other basic industries equipment.But for different process requirement,plane milling has different geometric shape and milling mechanism. This paper will research on the milling mechanism base on the circular milling insert and 45 degree insert.First, research on the milling mechanism of high speed feed milling、circular milling and 45 degree milling.Then compare and analyze each milling force and suit milling process.Then the circular milling and 45 degree milling insert are analyzed, and research on the wiper mechanism of 45 degree milling insert. Last according to the 45degree milling use for semi-finishing and finishing, measure and analyze the wiper run-out when insert and toolbar assembling,and analysis the mechanism to influence the plane residual height.Third, study the wear mechanism of circular and 45 degree milling. Though using the method of cutting experiment on two different types circular milling insert and 45 degree milling insert.At the same time research on 45 degree milling insert wear mechanism and workpiece surface roughness value. And analyze the chip deformation of circular and 45 degree milling insert.Last, analyze the factor effect on the plane milling. According to the insert geometry, establishes the static model of surface. As the system of workpiece and tool to establish a roughness model. Also establish the empirical model of 45 degree milling insert of ZC and OKE, and analyze the primary and second factor effecting the value of roughness,at the same time offer the optimization parameter to inproving surface quality.
