The Application Of Tridimensional Design Of Cloud Pattern In Modern Clothing

Cloud-pattern is a Chinese traditional pattern, it is widely used in modern design all over the world. Cloud-pattern, which has smooth lines and changeable shape, is also used in clothing design in various techniques, and tridimensional design is one of them. Tridimensional cloud embodies the culture connotation and aesthetic meaning with its unique visual effect and vivid tridimensional shape.This paper analyzed cloud pattern in different periods of Chinese history by collecting and sorting the relevant data, summarized the characteristics of cloud pattern, analyzed its composition structure and laid the theoretical foundation for the design. Collected and analyzed the tridimensional cloud pattern technique of modern clothing design. Summarized the four ways to transform the cloud pattern basic shape into tridimensional shape: dislocation whirling, overhanging, turning over and twining around human body, analyzed the shape and the structure characteristics. Researched the use of tridimensional cloud pattern in modern clothing from the point of view of the function. Discussed the value of tridimensional cloud pattern combined with clothing design and fashion show. Grounded on the theoretical analysis and summary discussion, the process transformed the cloud pattern to vivid tridimensional shape and streamlined body, innovated the cloud pattern, explored the new application of the cloud pattern in modern clothing, provided some guidance and basis for modern clothing design.
