X-ray imaging technology is one of primary methods in industrial welding quality detection and is widely used, with its small dose of illuminated, good real-time performance, convenience of image storage and processing. Carrying on research of X-ray digital imaging system is valuable and promising. The significance and aim of the article research is firstly confirmed by introducing the current research status of X-ray imaging system. The scheme is given in this thesis for the design of plane array imaging system based on X-ray line-scanning. The system uses FPGA as master controller to achieve the works like the linear array detector imaging acquisition, timing driver of A/D controller and so on, the imaging data is transmitted by the dual-port RAMs in FPGA. Considering the system’s university and extensibility, the structured system overall scheme is designed and the system is divided into signal collection layer, system control layer and scanning layer. The systemic design includes hardware circuit design and software design. The hardware design principles of these modules are introduced in detail, and the corresponding anti-jamming measures are adopted. The working principles of FPGA functional module are introduced in software design and the functional requirements are achieved by using Verilog HDL language, the simulations and results are listed also. At last, processing the captured X-ray weld seam image by background subtraction and edge detection, the results can realize the analysis and assessment of the welding quality and meet the requirement of system design.
