Ionic liquids(ILs) have been attracted much attention from both industrial and academic communities for the nature of the liquid soft materials as the “Green solvents”. The pyridinium-based ILs have a promising prospect, since they exhibit high heat capacities, high thermal stability and low cost compared with the imidazolium-based ILs. The pyridinium-based ILs have been widely applied to the environmental science and material science. The ILs with N(CN)2-anion have been widely used in the engineering technology, photothermal and photoelectric material. It is important to design, synthesis and application of the novel ionic liquids for the basic physicochemical data of ILs In recent years, there has been a developing trend toward estimation of the physicochemical properties for ILs by semiempirical methods.in addition to,Ionic liquids are expensive, viscosity and other shortcomings limit its industrial application, while the ionic liquid and organic solvent complex solve this problem. In this paper, N-ethyl-pyridinium dicyanamide ionic liquids [Epy][DCA] is firstly prepared by the metathesis method and characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy, 13 C NMR spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and High Performance Liquid Chromatography(HPLC).Secondly, measurements on densities(ρ), viscosities(η), and refractive indices(nD) from 293.15 K to 323.15 K and at 0.1 MPa for binary mixtures of N-ethyl-pyridinium dicyanamide ionic liquids with alcohol(ethanol or 1- Propanol) have been composed of different mole fraction. At last, measurements the surface tensions(γ) at 298.15 K and 0.1 MPa.Calculated the excess molar volumes(VmE, viscosity deviations(Δη), molar refraction deviations(ΔΦR) and surface tension deviations(Δγ) of binary solution. Also calculated the thermal expansion coefficient and Molecular volume values of pure [Epy][DCA]. The results indicate that the obtained excess molar volumes, viscosity deviations, molar refraction deviations and surface tension deviations for the two mixtures are negative at investigated temperatures. The intermolecular forces, molecular structure and the content of alcohol factors in the two binary mixtures were discussed detail based on the results.
