Permanent magnets discharge electrode magnet enhancement corona discharge with spraying water is a new-style high-efficiency energy-saving technique, which has a particular advantage in capturing aerosol particles. This technique is promising for electrostatic precipitators because of its high efficiency and no-clean property. In the paper, both discharging and charging characteristics of magnetic field corona discharges, Permanent magnets discharge electrode magnet enhancement corona discharge were studied and compared. So the theoretical foundation of applying the technique of permanent magnets discharge electrode magnet enhancement corona discharge with spraying water in pre-chargers and electrostatic precipitators were established.The research contents and conclusions are as follows: 1. The discharge characteristics of magnetic field corona discharges were studied and the variations in current were revealed. 2. The influence of magnetic field on starting voltage was studied. 3. The influence of magnetic field on breakdown voltage was studied. 4. The influence of magnet enhancement pre-chargers on collection efficiency was studied. 5. The influence of electric field and magnetic field on energy efficiency was studied. 6. The influence of magnetic field on magnet enhancement corona discharge with spraying water in pre-chargers was studied.
