With the rapid development of society, the car already become everyone’s first choice of travel. Wheel hub as an important part of a car, not only plays a critical role in bear the car’s weight, but also has important influence on show the appearance, turning and vehicle of the car.Spinning includes many advanced forming technologies like casting, ring rolling, extrusion and rolling process, spinning are widely used in general machinery, aerospace, electrical and electronic, military and some other metal processing field. In recent years, spinning as a new wheel forming technology had been gradually applied to the production and manufacturing of automobile wheels.Wheel spinning forming process is a complex plastic forming process, in order to do systematic research of wheel spinning forming process, we used the finite element method and numerical simulation technology to analysis the process,with the finite element method as the theoretical basis, we make a deep analysis of the wheel spinning forming process and established the mechanical model, we also determined the rotary wheel travelroute, and contact friction. Then we used the plastic forming analysis software DEFORM to analysis the finite element simulation of wheel spinning process and mainly aim at the spinningwheel’s trajectory. According to the data of wheel spinning forming’s numerical simulation that under different parameters, we analysis the influence law of various process parameters on equivalent stress, equivalent strain and rotaty pressure. The data provides theoretical basis and simulation conditions for selecting the parameters of wheel spinning and processing optimization.We select the appropriate parameters in the wheel spinning forming and optimize the processing parameters by the virtual orthogonal experiment method. According to the data of equivalent strain and rotary pressure that we got under different parameters, we establish the tables and use the method of analysis of variance to reasearch the relationship between the parameters and the wheel hub surface forming quality, main factors and selecting a set of optimal process parameters in the appropriate range.
