With the very complex coal tunnel environment, a multi-input multi-output(MIMO) model can effectively restrain multi-path fading. For making the model more suitable for the actual scene and the rich scattering environment, the system performance for different tunnel models was simulated.Based on multi-wave mode theory and ray tracing method, a wireless channel model was established in coal mine tunnel, considering the parameters of the electromagnetic transmission characteristics, such as wall roughness, inclination, antenna spacing, and antenna location and so on. The rectangle tunnel and the carrier frequency which is 900 MHZ were selected to simulate the impact of these parameters on the transmission attenuation. The comparison and analysis of multi-path fading channel bit error performance between BPSK and QPSK modulation method were gived. Antenna solutions are 2*1, 2*2,2*4 and 2*6. The Rayleigh fading BER simulation results by using minimum mean square error estimation algorithm in MATLAB simulation platform, are consistent with literature experimental data, which indicates that the model and system design has some practical value.
