The Application Of Simulation Design Of Steel Wear-Resistant Castings In Iron Mould Coated Sand Process

Wear-resistant casting of steel is the main component of wear-resistant casting, grinding ball of casting is a kind of large quantity and wide application in the casting, the domestic annual demand of more than 3000000 tons. The Methods casting of grinding ball mainly include sand casting, metal casting and the casting of iron mould coated sand, the casting of iron mould coated sand has both the characteristics of the metal mould casting and sand casting, not only has the chilling effect, but also has properties of concession, easy to realize automation of production.With the development of computer technology and the popularization of computer applications, series of Casting Simulation Design Software, which contain much casting technology and experience, have been researched. Such as, the nine mainstream softwares which have been widely used at home and abroad:MAGMAsoft, ProCAST, Flow-3D, Anycasting, Ansys, SolidCAST, Novacast,InteCAST and FT-Star. The development ideas and used of the nine software are in different ways, and the selected of casting method was not the same. Our research group have a careful study of the commonness and individuality of content of the nine software, and formation a guidance document. This document contains the material of casting, casting methods, casting structures and main simulation modules of nine software. The document can not only help different foundry enterprises to selection appropriate software, but also provide guidances and advice in selection the simulation metheds, and as tool’s choice for the casting simulation designer.In three years, systematically study of the postgraduate course, laid a good foundation for research this topic in theory and practice.The research mainly establish the common platform of simulation design of casting process, and is focused on establish a service platform of simulation design of casting process in iron mould coated sand. This paper introduces the casting grinding of iron mould coated sand in simulation design of casting process and success application in the production of enterprises, the main specifications of φ50mm,φ60mm,φ70mm,φ80mm,φ90mm and φ100mm.
