As an emerging green metallurgical method,microwave heating is widely used in many areas of metallurgical processes,due to it has specific advantages which traditional heating methods do not have.However,the interaction mechanism between microwave and materials is not clear enough,that caused low Microwave utilization rate, high energy consumption.Based on the brief introduction of the microwave mechanism, propose the optimized design method of method of microwave reaction cavity that is helpful to improve energy efficiency. Design two microwave heating models with Pro/ENGINEER, one is parabola cavity, the other is a hexagonal cavity.Microwave reaction is a place that electromagnetic interacts with material,thus the rational approach of design directly relates to the heating effect and energy efficiency. The focuses and difficulties for the optimization of microwave reaction cavity is that how to increase the energy absorption by the load.The width and thickness of the load affect energy absorption in parabola cavity,The radius of the load affect energy absorption in hexagonal cavity. This paper simulated the cavity by using HFSS software,through the analysis of the results, to build simulation model of microwave resonant cavity. By optimizing the structure.the electromagnetic field is most dense in the vicinity of the the wave absorbing materials and relatively uniform in the other region, and therefore, the efficiency of the microwave energy is improved effectively.
