In recent years, with the increasing dependence of China’s steel enterprises on foreign iron ore, some major foreign mining companies try to monopolize the price of the iron ore, which causes many steel enterprises in our country suffering huge economic loss. Therefore, research on the beneficiation technology of some domestic complicated refractory iron ores of large deposits, especially the fine disseminated oolitic hematite ore of huge reserves, is of great significance to the long-term interests of the iron and steel enterprises in our country.XuanLong iron ore is one kind of oolitic hematite ore which is very hard to beneficiate. How to utilize this kind of iron ore is a big problem for the international and domestic academics. This paper adopts magnetic roasting-magnetic separation and anionic reverse flotation combination circuit for XuanLong oolitic hematite and optimizes the magnetizing roasting-magnetic separation process. The magnetite concentrate was produced under the optimal condition of roasting-magnetic separation process. Then, a reverse flotation study on the magnetite concentrate was taken, so as to investigate the collecting effect of the composite anionic collector.Under the conditions of coarse grinding fineness 37.15% -0.074mm, coal ratio 8%, roasting temperature 750℃ and roasting time 40min, roasted products were obtained by water quenching, and after grinding to 76.58% -0.044mm, a iron concentrate was separated from the roasted product by magnetic drum separator at a magnetic field of 105.6kA/m, and then it was cleaned by a magnetic separation column, the result of magnetic roasting-magnetic separation shows that a concentrate with a TFe grade of 61.42% was obtained. In order to obtain high grade iron concentrate, a reverse flotation study on the magnetite concentrate was taken. This research developed a novel composite collector which could be used at a low temperature. The results show that at the temperature of 12~15℃, combined collector OMC-1 and OMC-2 ratio of 4:1 and dosage of 750g/t, depressor starch dosage of 1000g/t, and lime dosage of 4000g/t, a concentrate with a TFe grade of 65.39%, an operation recovery of 84.68% and a total recovery of 71.44% was obtained. This study developed a novel composite collector which may provide a new way to separate other iron ores and oxidized ores by flotation.
