Based on the classification of coarse particle is very mature in the mineral processing,but classification of-20 microns fine particles is difficult.Using FLUENT which is one of fluid dynamics software(CFD) to simulated, study the microgranular mineral movement characteristics in the rotary flow field,different process parameters and structure parameters how to influence the rotary flow field.According to the diagram of cyclone diameter and its production capacity and grading granularity, choose flow cyclone tube diameter D = 50 mm for the microgranular mineral- 20 microns.Set the initial conditions as follows: Pulp inlet type is pressure-inlet, select 30 kpa, concentration is 10%, choose 10 microns, 15 microns, 20 microns three kinds particle to simulated, particle density is 5 g/cm3. Underflow and overflow type are pressure-outlet, the atmospheric pressure is 1.01 Mpa. Flow turbulence intensity according to the formula I = 0.16× Re- 1/8, using the standard wall function method, particle collision rebound, roughness sets 0.5, water phase no slip.With these conditions, get the pressure distribution, concentration distribution, velocity characteristics, as well as the single particle, more particles trajectory.Simulate process parameters and structure parameters of hydrocyclone to get more depth study.The results show that,in order to get a better classfication efficiency, should use the parameters as follows: concentration shoulds be about 10%; The pressure value select 70 kpa; Feed pipe diameter is about a quarter of cylinder tube diameter; Depth of overflow pipe is half of column section, the effect is better; The overflow tube diameter is 0.32 of tube diameter; Pyramid is 2; Column length shall be about 0.8 of the cylinder diameter; Cone Angle is advisable to choose 8°.Finally, using test to demonstrate.Found that the result of test and simulation have the same trend, data shows that simulation has good guidance for practice.
