In this study, the effects of different treatments on the properties of wheat straw reinforced PP composites were investigated by electronic universal testing machine, impact strength tester, torque rheometer, thermogravimetric analyzer(TG),dynamic mechanical analyzer(DMA)and other testing methods. The main conclusions can be drawn as follows,1.Compared with untreated composites, the mechanical properties and thermal stability of alkali treated composites were improved, the balance torque was reduced and the contact angle was increased.2.When using MAPP to replace PP gradually,the tensile strength and bending strength of the composities were increased;the impact strength and initial decomposition temperature(Ti)of the composities were increased first and then decreased,when the amount of MAPP was 20%,these performances were the best;the contact angle of water on the surfaces of the composities were decreased;MAPP can increase the storage modulus of the composites.3.The tensile strength, bending strength and thermal stability of PP/WS composite were excellent when it was modified by benzoic acid(BA) and stearic acid(SA), and the impact strength and rheological properties of PP/WS composite were optimal when it was modified only by SA.4.The composites reinforced with 80 mesh wheat straw possessed better mechanical properties and thermal stability than 60 mesh wheat straw.5.Using ethylene acrylic acid copolymer(EAA) as the compatibilizer can increase the storage modulus,mechanical properties, thermal stability,rheological properties and hydrophobicity of the composites.6.The performances of the composites prepared by different plastic matrix were different, HDPE and PP based composes had excellent performance.
