In order to prepare high strength of the wood-plastic composites(WPC) and enlarge the using range.The paper was based on poplar wood-flour,high density polyethylene(HDPE) and glass fiber as the main raw material,through extrusion molding were prepared by glass fiber/wood-plastic composites,the mechanical properties of the composite were tested and the interface of the materials was studied in this paper.Study on the length and content of glass fiber,silane coupling agent concentration, maleic anhydride grafted polyethylene(MAPE),plasma treatment effect in different conditions on the performance of composites.The main work and conclusions were listed and follows:1.To add glass fiber into the wood powder/polyethylene system,the relationship between the mechanical properties of the composite and the length and content of glass fiber has been studied.The result showed that the comprehensive mechanical properties of composites to achieve the optimal when the length of fiber was 4.5mm and the content of fiber was 15%.2.Glass fiber was pretreated by silane coupling agent with different concentration,the mechanical properties of composite reinforced by glass fiber which has been pretreated has been discussed.The result showed that the mechanical properties of composites have been enhanced when the concentration of silane coupling agent was 1.5%.3.To add compatibilizer into the wood flour/glass fiber/polyethylene system,the interfacial compatibility between each phases has been improved and the relationship between the mechanical properties of the composite and the content of compatibilizer has been studied.The result showed that the comprehensive mechanical properties of composites to achieve the optimal when the content of compatibilizer was 8%.4.To use the plasma treatment and seek the beat conditions of plasma treatment.The result showed that the mechanical properties of the composites have been reinforced when the working atomosphere was oxygen,the processing power was 100 W and the processing time was 90 second.5.Taking the wood powder and glass fiber as the reinforced phase in the wood flour/glass fiber/PE blends,the mechanical properties of composites under the change of different ratio of wood flour and glass fiber has been discussed.The result showed that the tensile and flexural strength of composites to achieve the optimal when the ratio of wood powder was more,and the impact strength of composites to achieve the optimal when the content of glass fiber was larger.
