In the production of electrolytic manganese, impurity ions circulating enrichment in the solution to bring a range of hazards But the study of Mg ion impurities in manganese production was mainly deployed around the separation of manganese and magnesium, the impurity magnesium ions on the properties of electrolyte manganese and electrowinning process research basically no.In view of the influence of impurity magnesium ion on the properties of manganese electrolyte and electrowinning process performs. This paper studies the following three aspects:1.Researching the leaching behavior of Mg in the process of manganese ore leaching, combining with the relevant theory, the thermodynamics and kinetics of manganese magnesium will react with sulfuric acid in the process of leaching into the solution, and the reaction chemical equilibrium constant shows that the reaction of magnesium and sulfuric acid was carried out thorough than manganese.2.Measured the physical and chemical properties: density, viscosity, conductivity of manganese solution at different magnesium ion concentration and temperature,. Get the following conclusion: under the same temperature, with the increasing of Mg ion concentration in the solution, the density and viscosity of the solution increased, the conductivity decreased. Under the same Mg ion concentration, with the increasing of temperature, the density and viscosity of solution reduced, the conductivity increased.3.Through electrolysis experiments, researching the effects of magnesium ion concentration on the current efficiency. The results show that the current efficiency decreased with the increased Mg2+ concentration. Under 40 ℃, when the Mg ion concentration more than 20 g/L, will affect the electrolytic solution in the process of circulation, hinder the normal operation of the electrolytic cell. Effects ofmagnesium concentration of manganese electrodeposition using electrochemical workstation. Experimentally derived by linear scanning, with increasing concentration of magnesium ions in solution, the current density decreases, the current flowing in the electrolyte is reduced. By cyclic voltammetry experiments concluded that the magnesium ion concentration increases, the reduction potential of manganese in the negative direction, and the same trend variation of current density with line LSV curve.Through the relevant theoretical of electrolyte solution mass transfer kinetics, the research shows that the main factors affecting the manganese electric product process of Mg2+ concentration is changing the physical and chemical properties of the solution.
