Submerged arc furnace smelting industry is a high energy consumption industry, and one-third of the product cost comes from energy. Its power consumption is the highest proportion. Therefore, submerged arc furnace production process energy consumption monitoring and energy analysis model were studied to implement energy saving measures and promote energy efficiency, which relieves the energy burden of the economic development.Energy consumption monitoring and analysis equipment electrical loss model for 3500 KVA corundum abrasives smelting submerged arc furnace production process of Guizhou seventh emery wheel limited liability company were studied in the article. Energy consumption monitoring system design scheme based on virtual instrument technology were proposed,and power and electrical degree and energy consumption calculation principle were expounded. The transformer selection, signal conditioning module design, data acquisition system configuration, hardware watchdog devices, host computer, and touch monitor configuration were explained in detail to build energy consumption monitoring system hardware platform. Its software application is designed on LabVIEW 2011. Its design process and software aspects were studied, including: data acquisition, display and storage software design, system configuration file generation and viewing tools design, additional error checking system and software design, transformer error compensation principle and software design, and software design of other system features. And energy consumption monitoring system was simulated, field tested and inspected. Transformer and short network electric loss model were designed and training using the standard BP neural network and GA-BP neural network in Matlab. They were analyzed and contrasted on their errors. Saving calculate the index is proposed based on equipment electrical loss model.After the commissioning, measurement objectives and functions of the energy consumption monitoring system has been implemented and put into practical use in production, providing a theoretical basis for the seeking for the potentialities of energy-saving and the development of energy-saving measures.
