The study on biological treatment of chemical fibre wastewater with high nitrogen concentration is due to the pollution caused by the manufacture of caprolactam of Shijiazhuang Chemical Fibre Co. Ltd. The purpose of the study is to provide economical and suitable biological treatment technology and to discuss the mechanism of biological treatment.Based on the discussion the material of caprolactam process and the data of wastewater quality, the paper presents that the wastewater is of high nitrogen concentration and high organic concentration. Although the wastewater is suitable for biological treatment, the wastewater quality & quantity change in a large scale incessantly and suddenly. The HRT of the wastewater in the first oxic nitrification reactor (Os) is too short and the nitrification reaction couldnꊰ happen, which is the main factor that causes the failure of the existing AIO/AIO biological treatment system.Making an exhaustive study on the principle of biological removal nitrogen and the development of nitrogen removal process, based on lots of comparison trial, the paper shows that Sequencing Batch Reactor is the principal part of biological treatment process. The effluent water quality from ENSBRIBDARICQR is satisfied to effluent standard. Studying the ENSBRJBDAPJCOR, operation & control parameters about ENSBR are available.
