Based on the approximate surface area, pore volume and pore size distribution of support, the effect of surface chemical properties of carries on the activity of Ni-W/ -A1203 catalyst was studied. Catalysts of equivalent weight loading prepared from different supports using similar procedures showed difference activity after evaluation on a small-scale fixed bed with actual feed oil. The acidity of supports was characterized by NH3-TPD and IR analysis of adsorbed pyridine. The point of zero charge of supports was measured by mass titration. Y -alumina support containing a relatively higher concentration of acid OH groups ,more acidity and lower point of zero charge is of benefit to catalytic activity for oil hydrodesulfurization and hydrodenitrogenation. Catalysts were characterized by JR analysis of adsorbed pyridine ,visible-Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and temperature-programmed reduction. The result reveals that the alumina containing a relatively more acidity can increase the surface acidity of the catalyst and it containing more acid OH groups ,less basic OH groups can provide more interaction centers between support and tungsten species , to form more NiO-WO3 species ,a procedure of activity phase. |
