For the student,scholar and manager engaged in costume trades.it is important to study the history of the Western costume totally, systematically and objectively.This paper consists of two parts. In the first parts the importance to study the Western nonmain current costume and its reference value in sphere of learning and practice are discussed.In this part, it mainly intraoduce the whole development course of the modern Western nonmain current costume.
