In this paper, a numerical model was built on the base of mutual inductance coupling model and a correct coefficient used to calculate electromagnetic press was gave out to the electromagnetic continuous casting system of steel, the soft contacted casting mold system and the electromagnetic casting system of aluminum. The software was developed to simulate the distribution of magnetic field and magnetic press in those system, the effect of frequency, power, the slit numbers of soft contacted mold and the place of the induction coil on the distribution of electromagnetic press was studied. The results are just as follows.In the electromagnetic casting system of aluminum, on the axis direction, the electromagnetic press decreases with the distance increase from the position of the conduction coil and the maximal press is near the conduction coil, is equal to static press at the position where the maximal electromagnetic press is achieved and bigger than static press at the position which is less than the height of the liquid column, reaches its maximal value in the surface of the ingot on the radial direction, and sharply weaken towards the center of ingot, increases with the increase of the frequency on the axis and on the radial, sharply increases with the increase of power.It can be departed to two parts in studying the distribution of magnetic press on the steel column ingot in soft contacted electromagnetic continuous casting: the simulation on the distribution of electromagnetic field of soft contacted mold system without a ingot and the simulation on the distribution of electromagnetic press with a ingot. When there is no ingot, we can find that the magnetic flux density and magnetic induction is enhanced by increasing the slit numbers; the magnetic induction was increased by higher frequency and stronger power, on the axis; the maximum value of the magnetic induction, was increased and its position went up with the coils' moving up, and near the coils, it was decreased when the distance between coils and mold becomes longer. When there is an ingot, the magnetic press is increased when there are slits on mold and is significantly increased when the number of slits increase, enhanced with the increase of frequency and power, sharply decreased when the distance between conductor coils and mold become longer.
