The Residual Stress Of Carburized Gear Finite Element Analysis

In this paper, the mathematics models of the gas carburization. temperature filed and thermal stress filed are established in the process of carburizing and quenching by the finite element method (FEM), the computer programs are displayed on the base of established mathematics models. The carbon distribution, temperature distribution and thermal stress distribution on the gear side are also calculated. Finally the residual stress distribution on the gear root are compared with bend stress, in order to obtain stress distribution on the gear root.
