Titanium and aluminum alloys, which are non-ferrous alloys, have considerable strength-to-weight advantage over comparable-strength steels. Therefore, they have been found in wide use in aircraft and marine industry. But these alloys are very expensive. To save raw material, it is imperious to give father study on new manufacture processing, such as isothermal forging.Ti-1023 alloy is one of the new developed near-β titanium. This alloy has higher strength and fracture toughness than other available titanium alloys. It is widely used in making hardware of flying machines. In this paper, the influence of different heat treatments on microstructures and mechanical properties of bulkhead precision forging, which is made of Ti-1023 alloy, have been analyzed.Isothermal forging is an advantaged processing technology. In this paper, the processing of isothermal forging and heat treatments of LC4 tie-in precision forging have also been studied.
