The dissertation studied ecotypic fabric softeners which are mild to environment in recent years. New ecotypic fabric softeners are ester amine and ester quaternary ammonium salt mainly, which are prone to be decomposed into fatty acid and cationic substance. So they can be decomposed easily by microbe. Because of super small surface tension and solubilization of microemulsion, microemulsion is better in efficacy than common emulsion. The concentration and dosage of surfactant can be reduced in use, which will be beneficial to protecting environment and economy. So this paper studied the synthesization and microemulsification technology of new ecotypic fabric softeners-triethanolamine stearic acid ester betaine. In this paper, Stearic acid was combined with triethanolamine and formed triethanolamine stearic acid ester by electing toluene as solvent and p-toluenesulfonate as catalyzer. Stearic acid as a hydrophobe is a ecotypic material. The best condition of ester reaction was decided by orthoyonal experiment and influence of different factor on reaction was discussed detailed. Then, triethanolamine stearic acid ester was combined with sodium chloracetate and formed triethanolamine stearic acid ester beanie. Finally, the figuration and physical and chemical property of product were studied by chemical technology, liquid chromatogram, infrared spectrum and nuclear magnetic resonance .Microemulsion of betaine softer was prepared by putting betaine into water in the experiment. Appropriate surfactant and secondary surfactant were found. Pseudo-ternary phase diagrams of betaine/surfactant/secondary surfactant/water and the stability of microemulsion were studied. Influence of different factor on microemusion solubilization was discussed. The research indicate that microemulsion was not prepared by only a surfactant and two and more surfactant were need. Softer microemulsion can be prepared by two surfactants. Secondary surfactant such as alcohol is necessary to prepare microemulsion, and n-butanol is best. Microemulsion solubilization can be changed by increasing the EON and alkyl chain at one time, changing the structure of surfactants, putting alcohol into emulsion and altering the temperature of microemulsion. Microemulsion prepared by this experiment was semitransparent or transparent and had good transparent temperature range, good centrifugal stability, good property of resisting high and low temperatureand and property of resisting ion-water and considerable property of resisting acid. So it is good in stability. The fabric was processed with prepared softeners and reference of softeners. Comparing with the property of unprocessed fabric, it can be found that the performance such as the handle, dynamic and static friction caefficient, stiffhess, whiteness, anddrapability of processed fabric was better than that of the unprocessed fabric. The performance of dynamic and static friction modulus, hardness, draping property, tearing intensity, whiteness and moisture absorption instantly of the processed fabric by prepared softeners was better than that of the processed fabric by amido-silicon softeners, but the performance of crease recovery angle,l wicking action, gaining weight is not good. Most performance of the prepared softeners was better than softners-906B. The performance of softener microemulsion is bettenr than that of common emulsion. The prepared betain softener in this experiment as a amphoteric surfactant has not only good pliability but good resolvability by microbe and safe and credible poison property, because there are hydrophobic groups of tempering property and ester groups of being able to being discomposed easily. So the betaine softener as a amphoteric surfactant has a bright future to develop.
