The biofilm-electrode reactor is introduced to the SBR of sewage treatment for the first time, and as the base of developing a kind of new technology for wastewater treatment in the paper.Traditional SBR has such features as simple process flow, stable efficiency, small floor area, stronger ability for resisting shock load, convenient operation.lt is difficult to solve the problem of competing for organic substance, when SBR is used to treat Guangzhou municipal wastewater, with lower organic substrate, but higher nitrogen and phosphorus. So it is very hard to remove nitrogen and phosphorus simultaneously in a single reactor.In order to solve the problem of deficient organic substance, reinforce the efficiency of removing nitrogen and phosphorus, we use BER-SBR to treatment municipal wastewater, in this case we can make good use of their advantages.Firstly, we compare and determine the technological conditions and controlling parameters emphatically. Then we research the efficiency and influencing factors for removing various pollutant onstable condition. In the end, we carry out check experiment between BER-SBR and SBR, to we explore the action mechanics of removing nitrogen and phosphorus.The results of our experimental research indicate that BER-SBR has high efficiency of CODcr, TN, TP and NH3-N.The removal rate of CODcr is between 79.8% and 90.3%; TN is between 63.2% and 74.4%; TP is between 58.9% and 65.7%; NH3-N is between 72.6% and 78.8%. By electrolysis to supply hydrogen in 1 hour, the rate of denitrification is 75% approximately, the remaining nitrate has almost no impact on phosphorus release onanaerobic condition. On the other hand, from the point of removing nitrogen and phosphorus, BER-SBR has evident advantage on SBR, the removal rates of TN and TP improve 9.3% and 10.0% respectively. During the stable period, we find following phenomenon: the sludge is grayish brown, the structure is tight, and the kinds of protozoon are abundant. So we can come to the conclusion that the system is normal and stable.Based on the experiment research, we explore the action mechanics of removing nitrogen and phosphorus.Firstly, BER-SBR proceed ammonification and nitration using the nitrides onanaerobic and aerobic condition. Secondly, onthe anoxide condition, it supplies hydrogen for high efficiency denitrification on the cathode by electrolysis. As the result, it reduces nitrate concentration during anaerobic period, and improving the efficiency of releasing phosphorus remarkably, it is beneficial to remove nitrogen and phosphorus simultaneously.BER-SBR has such features as simple process flow, convenient operation, no need of organic substance and sludge recycle. As decomposing organic substance, it can also remove nitrogen and phosphorus simultaneously. Therefore, it is a high efficiency and economic technology for sewage treatment.
