Copper based bulk amorphous alloys are fabricated by consolidation and copper mold suction casting methods. The obtained alloys are examined by XRD, TEM. The microshapes are observed by SEM. Then the magnetic properties of the alloy powders made by mechanical alloying are studied by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), the electrical properties, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance properties are studied too.The first step of consolidation is making amorphous powders. In the experiment, the parameters (the ratio of ball to power, the milling time, the milling speed etc.) have great effects on the alloy powders. The experimental results show that the milling time is an important parameter. There is a tune range make the powder be amorphous phase. At the present conditions, Cu47Ti34Zr11Ni8 alloy powders are amorphous between 8~12.5 hours, while the time range of Cu40oTi30Zr10Ni15Sn5 amorphous phase is 7~15 hours. In addition, with the increasing of the milling speed and the ratio of ball to powder, the speed of the amorphous forming is fast. At last, extrude the amorphous powders together, the copper bulk amorphous alloys are attained. Its diameter is 15mm and thickness is 7mm.The copper based bulk amorphous alloys made by copper mold suction casting methods were finished in the suspend melting+copper suction casting system. The equipment is clear, which can't make the melt metal be pollutioned. In another way, the heat conductivity between the melt metal and crucible is little, so the melting temperature is even. This minishes the melt metal volatilization. The electrical resistivity of copper based bulk amorphous alloys is higher than the crystal structure; the bending strength is much higher, Cu50Zr2Al8 bulk amorphous alloys is 2717.57Mpa and Cu47Ti34Zr11Ni8 is 2992.22Mpa, which show copper based bulk amorphous alloys have excellent mechanical properties. They have good corrosion resistance properties.Copper based bulk amorphous alloys have excellent mechanical properties and good corrosion resistance. Their costs are lower than other noble metals. These advantages spread out the application fields of amorphous alloys. With the searching after the advanced bulk amorphous alloys and the improving on the process, there would be more and more copper based bulk amorphous alloys, and these alloys could be used in many fields.
