In this paper, Red Phosphorus (RP) is coated by Al(0H)3. The best operation conditions are shown as follows:(1)the percentage of Al(OH)3/RP is 5% ;(2)sol-gel method is used ;(3)it is desiccated at 220 ℃ in vacuum.The effect of RP or some other flame retardants used in PP are analyzed by ERP and TGA. The results show that RP or nano-Mg(OH)2 seperatedly filled in PP can supply fire resistance, but the effect is not good enough, and mechanics properties of PP is decreased greatly with the amount of nano-Mg(OH)2. As flame retardants of PP, nano-Mg(OH)2 assisted by RP is better than RP assisted by nano-Mg(OH)2 ;Br-Sb System is better than zinc borate ,but RP/nano-Mg(OH)2 system is better than Br-Sb System in environmental protection. The result of TGA shows that RP can debase the thermal aging stabilization performance in the RP/nano-Mg(OH)2/PP System , but nano-Mg(OH)2 can improve the thermal resistance performance.
