Xanthate, ethyl thiocarbamate and dianilino dithiophosphoric acid were organic flotation reagents used frequently in coloured metal sulfureted mine. the decomposition characters of the three kinds of organic flotation reagents under acidic or alkaline conditions were investigated in this paper. NaClO, Fenton oxidation and chemical precipitation were used to investigate the purification regularity of the three kinds of organic flotation reagents in simulated wastewater, oxidation test of Fenton reagent was achieved in plant wastewater and the mechanisms of xanthate oxidated by NaCIO or Fenton reagent were also discussed, which was the base of choosing oiganic floatation reagents for cleanness production and designing the project for wastewater treatment. The three kinds of organic floatation reagents could be removed efficiently after acidic action. When pH was lower, the decomposition rate of reagents was higher; in five minutes, they decomposed completely at pH 13. When they was decomposed completely, removal ratio of ethyl thiocarbamate COD was highest, about 70. 15%, in contrast, that of xanthate and dianilino dithiophosphoric acid was lower, respectively 10. 24% and 5. 71%.When NaCIO was used to treat xanthate or ethyl thiocarbamate, the optimal conditions of pH, reaction time, NaCIO dosage were respectively 4, 60min, 125 mg·L-1 and 60 mg·L-1, the removal rate of xanthate and ethyl thiocarbamate was nearly 100% and that of COD was respectively 75. 40% and 78. 01%. in addition, NaCIO could remove dianilino dithiophosphoric acid partly, but it could hardly remove COD and even increasing NaCIO dosage couldn't improve the removal ratio of dianilino dithiophosphoric acid COD ,even it resulted in wastewater turning color. When Fenton was used to treat xanthate, the optimal conditions was [H2O2] =20 mg·L-1, [Fe2+]=20 mg·L-1, 60 min of reaction time and pH4, here, the removal ratio of xanthate and COD was respectively 99. 5% and 87. 5%.
