Danlehuayu tablets, consisted of several Chinese Materia Medica such as Herba Artemisiae Capillaris, are a compound preparation used for diseases in liver and gallbladder, such as acute or chronic cholecystitis, calculus in the liver and gallbladder. This paper reported the studies on preparation technology and quality standard of the tablets.In the study of preparation technology, the water extraction process of Herba Artemisiae Capillaris and other 3 Materia Medica is researched. Three factors were selected in this experiment, including the water volume, the time of decocting and the times of decocting. Each factor selected 3 different levels. And the content of chlorogenic acid being as index, an orthogonal experiment of L9 (34) was conducted to find the optimal water extraction condition. The result showed that the optimum extracting condition was that water of eight times the amount as much as the medicinal materials was added to the medicinal materials to decoct 3 times, each time boiling for lh. Otherwise, the technology on the preparation of soft materials and particles, dryness, pruning of particles, tabletting and capsuling.In the study of quality standard of preparation, chlorogenic acid in Danlehuayu tablets were determined by RP-HPLC, an Inertsil HPLC . column being used with methanol-water-acetic acid(22:78:I) as the mobile phase and 328nm as the detection wavelength. The results showed that the calibration curve was linear in.the range of 0.1856~0.5568 u g correlation coefficient and correlation coefficient was 0.9998. The average recovery of chlorogenic acid was 99.03% (RSD=0.78%). The content of chlorogenic acid wasn't less than 0.5mg in each of Danlehuayu tablets.Thin layer chromatograph method was adopted to identify the medicinal materials: Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, Fructus Mume and RadixCurcumae in Danlehuayu tablets with dots clear and reproducible. Radix et Rhizoma Rhei was identified with n-hexane-ethyl acetate -formic acid (30: 10: 0.5 ) as developing agent in silica gel G plate. Fructus Mume was identified with ethyl acetate - formyl acid-water(14:7:7) as developing agent in silica gel G, and using 0.1% of bromocresol green as the visualization reagent. Radix Curcumae was identified with petroleum ether(60?0)-ethyl acetate (9:1) as the developing agent in silica gel G plate and 5% of phosphomolybdic acid as the visualization reagent.
