The main works of the thesis are as follows:1. The development of gas chromatography (GC) and the preparation of the fused-silica capillary column were reviewed.2. We present the first enantiomers separation in gas chromatography using fused-silica capillary column containing cellulose tri(3,5-dimethylphenyl carbamate), cellulose triphenylcarbamate , cellulose triacetate, and one chiral ionic liquid as the new chiral stationary phuse The separated solutes included alcohols, amine, ketone, ester, ami no acids. Their column efficiency, polarity and chiral selectivity were studied. The retention mechanism was also discussed. They all showed relatively high chiral recognition abilities, especially to alcohols, amine, ketone, ether, ester and amino acid enantiomer. As the result of relative high chiral selectivity, cellulose derivatives may be very useful in chiral separation in capillary gas chromatography.3. The separation of benzols and phenols in water sample had been carried out on the column of ionic liquid. The experimental results showed that this column is very useful in GC.
