| The biggest problem of large-scale injection mold design in the practical production is that designers have to face many problems, such as its long manufacturing cycle, high cost, and short life etc. Owing to the limitation of patent and competition, large-style injection mold design is few opened to public, so it is impossible to get some information about the design method on injection mold. So, study and discuss how to improve the level of mold design in large-scale injection is an important project in China.Because the differences between large-scale injection mold and common injection mold in size and weight caused many difficulties to manufacture, transport, which leads to the expensive price. During the design of large-scale injection mold, a perfect and special designing methods and theory must be employed to ensure successful design.The model of large-scale injection mold is established by the software of UG. Then based on rheology theory of the polymer, mechanical theory and calorific theory to validate mold, modified moulding system and cooling system. The interface between Moldflow and UG is programmed for CAE analysis. Moldflow is employed to analyze inject gate locating, smelter liquid flowing and cooling. By comparation the analytical results and theoretical results, the optimizing design mold is obtained.In practice, comply with rheology design, mechanical design, calorific design— UG mold design — Moldflow analysis—optimizing mold in UG to find a better method which fit the design of large-scale injection mold.The methods and conclusion discussed in the paper give some suggestion and promotion in the designof large-scale mold. |
