| With the constant progress of computer science ,much progress about the technology of the geographical information system has been made. The trend of its component is more and more obvious too. A new concept has been put forward since the rising of the component software technology which has already become one of the trends in current software technology .The use of component GIS has provided opportunities for the innovation and improvement of various GIS application system, component GIS is a kind of application of object oriented technology. It properly abstracts GIS functions and provides them to users as components, which makes it take on many advantages that the traditional GIS lakes. Therefore, it provides completely new idea to solve the problems the traditional GIS faces.In this paper the development of Geographic Information System and the current research hot topics were reviewed, the principles of component technology and its features, the structure of the component GIS and the method of its redevelopment were discussed in detail. This paper also compared the systems based on traditional GIS and component GIS separately. And the system analysis, system design and system implement of the environment monitor information system developed by component GIS were studied particularly.In the process of development, we integrate two modes: GIS system platform and GIS developing toolkit. The digitalize of map and database are finished on MapInfo, a leading software for desktop and mapping. In the Visual Basic 6.0 environment, the connection of property data and spatial data and the spatial analyst are designed with MapX ,the software used as GIS control. |
