CONSTEEL steel-making is an advanced technics and give it high recognition in the steel-smelting field. CONSTEEL steel-making is continually perfecting and developing, The tie rods and the crossbeams of CONSTEEL equipments that imported overseas broken off in Shaoguan Steel Factory, stop production and import share-parts forms much economic expense, and the experts overseas put forward many improving measures, but the tie rods and the crossbeams always broken off, the experts overseas do not find out the root of failure and the resolvent.It is important to find out the root of failure of the tie rods and the crossbeams of CONSTEEL conveyor and the measures of avoiding the failure, and ensure the natural running in CONSTEEL steel-smelting product line on the way of technical economy. Therefore, the Central South University and Shaoguan Steel Factory set up the study group, examine the failure, study the failure mechanism, and put forward the measures of technical improve. The study group solve the technical problem, achieve the important parts' nationalization of equipment, and accumulate the valuable experience for the application and the equipments' nationalization of the CONSTEEL steel-making technics.The emphasis of this paper is studying the excitation system of the CONSTEEL vibrating conveyor and the failure mechanism of the tie rods the main research in this paper are as following:1) A detailed study on the excitation system' kinetics is done and the similarities and differences between CONSTEEL excitation system and other inertial excitation system is mentioned, then a simulative model of excitation system is built with MATLAB/SIMULINK, which made some useful attempt on the study and the nationalization of the CONSTEEL excitation system, the research done by this paper is of certain practical and theoretical value.2) Mechanic model and finite element model of the tie rod is set up and the static, dynamic, modal finite element analysis is done with the model, the analysis results is very close to the results of field experiment, which testified that the combination of FEM method with fieldexperiment is an available method to solve those similar problems.3) Analyzed the basic rules of rods' strain in several different working conditions and found out the stress distribute and the acting force situation in the working condition.4) Failure analysis of tie rods is done and the causes of fracture is confirmed, then the mend method of design and manufacture is put forward to prolong the service life, and the new tie rod is manufactured and used in the Shaoguan Steel Factory, which is proved effectively and find a new method for the nationalization of the design and manufacture of the tie rods.
