Sheet metal forming, an important metalworking method, is widely used in spaceflight, auto manufacturing. With the development of computer technology, the Finite Element Method of is used widely in sheet meal forming under computer virtual environment. In contrast to this incremental method, because of its quick and simple by considering only of initial and finite configuration, an Inverse Finite Element Method has been paid much more attention. In this paper, the Inverse Finite Element Method is studied deeply. Based on the ideal forming theory, the triangle membrane cell is adopted and the deforming relations are analyzed. Equations are established with the nodal co-ordination in initial configuration as fundamental unknown quantity. In this model, the influence of anisotropic properties has been considered, and the Hill48 anisotropic yield criterion is used to establish the relation between stress and strain. At the same time, the influence of blank holding to the deforming process has also been presented.Through the solution of above Finite Element Equation, the reasonable blank shape can be obtained, and the forming ability of sheet mental part can be analyzed. The prototype of inverse approach system has been developed with C++ language together with prepositive and postpositive disposal. In the prepositive disposal, part modeling and meshing were realized, and the initial blank shape was calculated on the UG/open API technology. Finally, a typical simulation case of deep drawing are presented and analyzed in detail, and the numerical results are acceptable.
