Many people in the world have periodontal disease. The main factors of this disease is dental calculus. So, it is necessary to develop a new process of preventing and curing calculus. The primary c oncern of this article is to find out a slovent or several slovents w hich can dissolve the dental c alculus , and a lso can r estrain new dental calculus from growing. The technique is that put isolate caculus into different kinds of slovents by means of immersion , then took antibacterial test to choose perfect prevent and cure dental calculus solvent.The first study of the article was the solution of zinc sulfate, hydrochloric acid ,citric acid, tannic acid and acetate to dissolve calculus, these five solutions can dissolve some calculus. The rates of dissolution of zinc sulfate, hydrochloric acid , citric acid increase with the concentration increasing, but pH of hydrochloric acid ,citric acid are low, they are not suitable for oral cavity. Acetate solution is suitable for oral cavity ,but it just can dissolve little calculus . Zinc sulfate solution and tannic acid solution have good dissolution rate. The main contents are zinc sulfate and tannic acid compound anti-dental calculus solvent is developed. According to the experiment research: the compound prevent and cure dental calculus solvent that concentration of zinc sulfate is 0.6% and concentration of tannic acid is 8% has the highest dissolution rate. The compound solvent has strong killing effects, it has 100% bactericidal action within 20minutes, pH of the solution is about 6, it is suitable for oral cavity.
