On the basis of plenty of former researches of fly ash in our own laboratory, experimental studies of adsorptive materials of modified fly ash are further carried out in this paper. A new technology on making adsorptive materials is studied, taking fly ash as basic material and acid, alkali as activators. Firing temperature, particle size of adsorptive materials, varied activators, adsorptive materials characteristics and adsorptive time have influence on absorptive capability of modified fly ash. Powdered active adsorptive materials was analyzed by X-ray diffraction spectrogram. Also research of absorptive capability of modified fly ash on Municipal solid waste(MSW) leachate was carried out. The experiment results showed that: 1. Roasting adsorptive time, plunging quantity and properties of waste water are important factors to affect absorptive efficiency; 2. Main phase composition of modified fly ash are reasonable known by analyzing X-ray diffraction spectrogram of active adsorptive materials; 3. Activated fly ash has excellent performance in the adsorption of COD, BOD, heavy metal ions, NH3-N and chromaticity in leachate; Modifiers in this experiment has good active effects on low calcium fly ash; 4. Pulverulent absorptive capability of activated fly ash to leachate is about 82.6mg/g and granulous actual absorptive capability of activated fly ash to leachate is about 162.2mg/g; 5. Regenerative adsorptive materials by high temperature calcinations have excellent adsorptive performance and its COD adsorption rate is about 82.1 % of activated fly ash.
