Shanghai Capacity For Sustainable Development Of Urban Ecological Environment Evaluation And Analysis

From the essence of sustained development of urban ecological environment,citing Shanghai as instance, the paper analyses the present situation of Shanghai's urban ecological environment according to the natural ecological environment, the development of social economy and environmental quality. Adopting the gradation analysis method and establishing index system of social, economical and natural environments, the paper simply explores the varied capacity of the sustained development of Shanghai's ecological environment between 1994 and 2004 and synthetically analyses the movements according to all the factors. The result of the analysis shows that the sustained development index of Shanghai's ecological environment are totally growing up annually and displaying a harmony and well—balanced development between society, economy and nature. The construction of Shanghai's urban ecology acquires the initial success owing to the fast and sustained development of economy, the synthetical treatment of environment, and the growing strengthen of environmental protection investment. These favorably put forward the sustained development of Shanghai's ecological environment. The fast development of urbanization, the incresement of popular density and the construction of urban infrastructure pose higher requirement, however, the great gap between developed country in industrial consumption, the high rate of unemployment, the bad situation of the main urban rivers become the main factors obstacling the health of Shanghai's ecological environment. In this way, the paper furtherly puts forward some ideas and suggestion related to improving the capacity of the sustained development of Shanghai's urban ecological environment.
