Based On The Characteristics Of The Welded Structure Design Technology Research

Recently, feature technology has been applied widely to CAD/CAPP/CAM design. According to characteristics of welding structure, this paper analyses and studies up on the definition, description and expression of feature technology comprehensively in the process of welding structure product design. The system is based on uniform product definition model, and the feature is the medium of product information transmission. Based on analysis of the structure characteristic of a typical weld product, and according to the standard of pressure vessel, a feature-based product model for welding structure design is presented in the paper. The main of the system functions, such as parameterization design for pressure vessel and for weld joint are carried out by Solid Edge CAD redevelopment, and the feature database is established by using Microsoft SQL Server 2000, other assistant functions such as product management, material management, user authority management, are built up by Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0.The research on feature-based weld structure design has great value both in theory and practice. It can help enterprise to shorten the cycle of product development, improve the quality of product, and reduce the product cost.
