Laser transformation hardening is a technical multi-parameter synthetic process, which is a very difficult process to use for measuring transient temperature distribution directly by experimentation. According to this situation, it is also very difficult to quantify those factors which affect the layer thickness of the metallographic changes. With the development of advanced computer technology, it is now much easier to quantify these factors.Parameters of laser transformation hardening are very important to the indurations effect . In this thesis, we attempt to find out the relationship between parameters and effect. It is important to obtain a uniform hardened case in our research and manufacture, which mainly indicates the difference between the input-output areas. Based on experiments and theoretical analysis, the author proposed the processing method of laser scanning with changing speed by stage, which improves the homogeneity of the hardened layer; and developed a program of laser transformation hardening simulating and optimizing by the use of the Numerical Integration Toolbox and PDE Toolbox of Matlab.The program of laser transformation hardening simulating and optimizing includes four modules : Laser transformation hardening simulating module of longitudinal cross section, Laser transformation hardening simulating module of lateral cross section, Laser transformation hardening optimizing module of longitudinal cross section, and Laser transformation hardening optimizing module of lateral cross section. The program of Laser transformation hardening simulating and optimizing, connecting with Vb, can calculate quickly and easily through Graphical User Interface of Vb. Experiments showed that the calculations have worked out right.
