Chinese compound prescriptions of traditional herbs are the main forms and means in the clinical medicine use of traditional Chinese medical theory. Any single herb in the prescription is the substance basis of pharmacological effects. The study of the chemical oscillations participated in by Chinese traditional compound prescription and its single herbs plays an important role for exploring biological oscillating law and promoting traditional Chinese medical theory's development. There are many oscillations such as heartbeat , breath, metabolism and so on in the body. The oscillations would become disordered when man had ill. While Chinese traditional compound prescription can regulate these abnormal oscillations and adjust the disordered yin-yang body. So studying the oscillating behavior of the prescription and its single herbs by new high-tech method is of great significance for helping to explore the secret of life and to reveal pharmacological effect. In this paper the oscillating reaction systems of two classic prescriptions and their eight single herbs were studied by microcalorimetry. The power-time curves of oscillating systems were determined by TAM Air 8-channel calorimeter (Sweden). Analyzing the curves we can obtain the thermodynamic parameters and kinetic information. All these can help to make further research on the reaction mechanism.1. The chief contents1.1 The solution preparation of the prescriptions and their single herbsThe Siwu decoction and Windflower decoction were weighed according to the dosage of the prescriptions; other single herbs were weighed by fixed dosage; then they were boiled, filtered, condensed to the fixed concentration.1.2 The study on the oscillating systems of the prescription and its single herbs at the same temperature and different concentrations. At the same conditions, the concentrations of the medicine had certain effects on the induction period, oscillation period and the lifetime and others. According to the experiment, the prescription's oscillating curve was different from its single herbs. Single herbs' oscillating curves were also different from each other.1.3 The study on the oscillating systems of the prescription and its single herbs at the same temperature and concentration. The prescription and its single herbs were studied by choosing the same concentration at 310K. Their unique characters were obvious by putting their oscillating curves into one coordinate and by comparing their oscillating parameters.1.4 The study on the oscillating systems of the prescription and its single herbs at different temperatures. The temperature had obvious effects on the oscillating systems from the curves obtained by the experiment.1.5 The induction period (tin), the first oscillating period (tp,1) and the second oscillating period (tp,2) of the oscillating systems were obtained from the power-time curves. The reaction order (fin, fp,1, fp,2)and the apparent activation energy(Ein, Ep,1, Ep,2) were calculated according to the thermodynamic theory. So the nonlinear relationships between the induction period, the oscillating period and the concentration, temperature were established.2. The main innovative points in the thesis2.1 In recent years, the oscillating research on the traditional medicine are focused on the single herbs or some kind of ingredient. But the research on the prescription and its single herbs has not been reported.2.2 The study on oscillating system can promote the chemistry and other subjects to penetrate each other. More meaningfully, it can further yield some insights to the changes in the human's body. In this thesis, we take the oscillating systems of the prescriptions and their single herbs as study object so as to seek the relationships between the herbs and human's vital movements. The study provides the theory basis for the rational use of Chinese traditional herbs.
