As the changing of our national economy development and energy structure, pipeline steel becomes more and more important in projects. With decades of development Jinan Steel has improve its equipment, which makes a good condition for pipeline steel R&D. Laking of experience of pipeline steel test and manufacturing data, and considering development of relative grade, Jinan Steel focuses in X60.Based on this, after studying a lot of references, the author has known the usage, structure, performance and contents features of X60, which is theory basis for future development.Then X60 test research start in Jinan Steel Central Lab: X60 steel soften curve is drawn, X60 re-crystallization final temperature is confirmed, X60 dynamic Continuous Cooling Transferring line (CCT) is measured, cooling speed effect on tissue structure is researched, with simulate rolling the designed rolling and cooling parameters are right. Meanwhile comes to the conclusion: whether high temperature rolling and fast cooling, or low temperature and normal cooling process, qualified X60 pipeline steel can both be produced.With the sequent two production tests, X60 pipeline steel batch production is realized, which confirms the process suggested in this lecture. Thus leads to 2 important conclusions: 1) DWTT test can reflect the steel tenacity more clearly than low temperature impact test, with higher demand, which becomes the necessary index to evaluate pipeline steel, and 2) the key reason for DWTT index infirmity is the big substances, uneven crystal granules and strip tissues.
