Molecular imprinting is a technique empolyed for preparing polymers with synthetic recognition sites having a predetermined selectivity for analytes of interest. The principle of molecularly imprinting technology is described as Templates are first allowed to form complex with functional monomers by covalent bonds or non-covalent bonds in a solvent or mixed solvents. Subsequently functional monomers and crosslinker are cross-linked around templates. After polymerization, templates are removed from the polymers by extraction or dissociation, and leaving the specific cavities in regard to the shape and functionality. In recent years, based on the selectivity of molecular imprinting, the molecularly imprinting membrane technology has showed tremendous potential; especially, the molecularly imprinted composite membranes have been applied in some fields such as catalysis, sensors, membrane separation and etc due to its character of selectivity and separation.In this paper, we mainly go into the area of molecularly imprinted composite membranes as sorbents for enriching and separating pharmaceutical. The content of this paper includes two sides, one side is that the quinine,naproxen,vanillin and EGCG are employed as template molecule separatively, the molecularly imprinted composite membranes with high selectivity are prepared using the cellulose acetate as support by the method of surface modification, and the properties and separation mechanism of the membranes are discussed. The other side is that the obtained molecularly imprinted composite membranes are applied to enrich and separate pharmaceuticals from medicines with similar structure and Chinese traditional medicines, and satisfied results are acquired. The study may show a good method to separate medicines and extract an active component from Chinese traditional medicine.The combination of molecularly imprinting technology and membrane technology has been widely applied to our production. With the development of molecularly imprinting technology, this combination will acquire better applying prospect in the future.
