Preparation conditions of poly(Dimethyldiallylammonium Chloride-Acrylamide) with cationicity of 30% were studied in this paper. Using redox complex of ammonium peroxysulfate-sodium bisulfite or ammonium peroxysulfate as an initiator, the effects of processing conditions such as the temperature of polymerization, concentration of monomers, initiator and Na4EDTA on the intrinsic viscosity of product PDA with cationicity of 30% were investigated respectively. Through a series of preliminary experiments and orthonormal experiments, the intrinsic viscosities of the PDA products under the initiators of ammonium peroxysulfate-sodium bisulfite and ammonium peroxysulfate reached 7.54 dL·g-1 and 8.59 dL·g-1, the percent of residual double bond were 29.76% and 22.17% respectively. When monomer concentration was 42.0%, polymerization reaction temperature was 25℃, initiator mass was 3.5mL and when monomer concentration was 40.0%, polymerization reaction temperature was 45℃, initiator mass was 2.0mL, Na4EDTA mass was 0.90mL, the better processing conditions were gained under ammonium peroxysulfate-sodium bisulfite initiator systems and ammonium peroxysulfate initior systems respectively.
