In the copper flash smelting process, the matte grade, the Fe/SiO2 and the matte temperature, called the three technological parameters, are the overall evaluation indexes. When the three parameters are stabilized, the smelting, the blowing and the produce of sulfuric acid could be stabilized. However, Owing to the complicated reaction mechanism, the coexistence of gas-liquid-solid tri-phase and the numerous influencing factors with serious coupling in the copper flash smelting process, it is impossible to measure the three parameters on-line.Considering the difficulty of on-line measurement of the three parameters in the copper flash smelting process, the independent chemical reactions, the molar relationship among the components and the themal income and the themal expenditure in the copper flash smelting furnace are studied and a mechanism model is put forward for the forecast of the three parameters, based on the analysis of the S.R.Brinkley principle and the heat balance principle. Because of the mechanism's complexity and the suppositions and the simplifications during modeling, the precision of the mechanism model couldn't meet the need of practical application. Therefore, based on industrial running data, a neural network model for the forecast of the three parameters is established, whose inputs are the direct influencing factors of the three parameters and the outputs are the three parameters. The neural network model describes the relationship among training data samples quite well but with lowgeneralization ability. Thus, taking advantage of the mechanism model's global fitting capcity and the neural network model's nonlinear mapping ability, an intelligent integrated model is proposed, in which the mechanism model and the neural network model are combined by means of fuzzy classification. Simulations indicate that the intelligent integrated model could do estimation well and could provide important reference to the optimization of the industrial operation in the copper flash smelting process.
