In recent years the gas spring has obtained the widespread application in industry domain of the molding tool, automobile, electron, light industry and so on, therefore carrying on to the gas spring systematically, comprehensively studies has the count for much significance. This topic originates come from the project which cooperated with American DANLY Corporation "the gas spring structure improvement and the performance analysis research". The gas spring belongs to the high-pressure vessel which withstands very big intrinsic pressure, so it appears especially importantly to carry on mechanics performance analysis to its cylinder body and performs the structure improvement for guaranteeing its security. This paper analyses the stress of the gas spring cylinder body using ANSYS software which based on the finite element computational method, discovers the structure weak link, and carries on the optimized design and the weary analysis of the cylinder body wall thickness, finally carries on the mode analysis to the gas spring cylinder body.The main research content includes:Firstly this paper introduces the application of gas spring in the industry, explains its important status in the modern industry, discusses the development condition of the gas spring in domestic and foreign, proposes existing question at present. Then it elaborates research content, the research significance and the structure arrangement of this paper, explains the structure and the working principle of gas spring, analyzes the gas spring structure characteristic, explained its performance parameter and the characteristic, and produce the selecting principle.Secondly the influence factor of the initial ball pressure, the pressure ratio and the characteristic curve is found out. It explained the design mechanics principle of the cylinder body, derives stress formula of the pressure on the cylinder to the ring, radial and axial, give cylinder wall thickness design, check the formula and calculate the gas Spring to bear by the maximum stress, and calculated wall thickness.Thirdly the paper outlines finite element software ANSYS in the machine design application and the analysis process, has established the gas spring cylinder body finite element model and has analyzed the cylinder body stress distribution, and launches the optimized design for the cylinder body wall thickness, finally carries on the weary analysis.Finally the paper Introduces the modal analysis of the theoretical basis, carries on the gas cylinder for the spring modal analysis, calculated its 10 steps natural frequency, explains the influence of cylinder body wall thickness optimized to the cylinder body mode frequency, provides the basis for the actual production, avoids appearing resonates the destruction.In summary, the paper conducts the research to the gas spring cylinder body mechanics performance, carries on in this foundation to its structure certainly optimized the design, mode has carried on the computation to the cylinder body, has provided the basis for the gas spring production and the application.
