Foam metal is a new material developed in 1940s.The research on foam metal is mainly focus on low melting point these years.Mainly aluminum,magnesium and other non-ferrous metals.This treatise mainly researches explanatorily on two methods which is melt foaming and powder metallurgy two methods for the preparation of Steel porous foam.This treatise analyzed two forming foam strategies and two evolutionary processes under two different techniques.Both methods foaming adopt vesicant decomposition to raise gas.The driving force of the form growing up in the melt water is all from the gas of the continuous vesicant decomposition.This treatise mainly researches explanatorily on two techniques which is directly foaming in the induction furnace method and casting foaming two methods for the preparation of steel porous foam.The vesicant used in the melting foaming method is Cr2N and Mn4N transform the pot before the experiment can devolve the issue of floating foam.Because the induction furnace directly generated swirl of foam,the raising foam can't remain in the temple.This method can't make ideal foam metal in thus conditions.About the casting foaming method,this treatise test the two vesicants affect the temple porosity under different temperature.The Cr2N,Mn4N have good performance under 1350℃,1450℃.Use the impact Of SiO2 liquid steel stick on the impact of the porosity.After stick can make the max porosity of 44.6%.The treatise research on the impact of powder metallurgy press temple relative density on the porosity.The bigger density is the porosity.When it comes up to 80%,the result is more perfect.The treatise compared the two methods.The aperture of melt foaming method is more bigger,about 0.5~4mm.The aperture of powder metallurgy is smaller, most between 0.01~0.3 mm,The hole formed in powder metallurgy is more smooth and round. The treatise analyzed the future industrialization application prospect.The melt foaming method will be more prospect than the powder metallurgy because of its own craft characteristic.
