A new method is proposed, which is to process the flame light intensity in phase with the image information and show the result of the real-time processing by means of the knowledge about serial port and multi-thread. This new method, based on both the image information and the flame light intensity to control the end-point of the basic oxygen furnace (BOF), overcome the problem of the data loss and data asynchronization caused by separating collecting and processing of the flame light intensity and the image information. The experimental system is established, which consists of light intensity processing system, flame image capturing system, the data analysis and processing in-phase and real-time system. The hardware and software sub systems have been tested and used in the experiments. The experimental results show that the problem can be solved smoothly. Another experimental system is established, which consists of light intensity and flame image preconditioning system, the results of real-time display and the steelmaking end of the simulation of judge system, can be realized the results of processing can be shown real-time, which enables the data to be presented objectively, shortens the process of data analysis, and can be used for end-point control in the course of steel-making.
