Energy consumption of zinc electro-winning is huge, which constitutes more than 75 percent of the whole energy consumption of the process of zinc hydrometallurgy. There are so many factors that affect the consumption and the relationships between these factors are very complicated. So it is hard to model the energy consumption of zinc electro-winning. Workers often adjust these parameters according to their experiences during the actual production process. And they haven't got any idea about how to control the energy consumption so that the consumption is higher. Therefore, studying the mechanism of zinc electro-winning process and modeling the energy consumption of it, are significant for saving energy consumption of zinc electro-winning and enhancing the competitive power of enterprises.The electrochemistry mechanism of zinc electro-winning energy consumption and the affections of the main factors on energy consumption are analyzed in this dissertation. A lot of zinc electro-winning experiments which simulate the real procedure in production are carried on. Qualitative analysis of the experimental results is also made. Then according to the equations of electrochemistry and the conservation laws of electronics, mechanism models of cell voltage and current efficiency are established. And the data of the experiments are used to identify the parameters of the models. Mechanism model of zinc electro-winning can be established by its definition. But the precision of the model are low, because of the model of current efficiency. So, according to the nonlinear characters, support vector machine model of zinc electro-winning current efficiency based on the different ranges of current density is proposed. Finally, on the base of analyzing merits and flaws of zinc electro-winning current efficiency's mechanism model and support vector machine model, a coordinator is designed to harmonize outputs of these two models. And with the mechanism model of zinc electro-winning cell voltage, integrated model of zinc electro-winning energy consumption is established.Simulation results show that the integrated model of energy consumption is effective and reliable. It can predict zinc electro-winning energy consumption very precisely.
